XTRA MATH- A supplemental math program

Dear Parents

We will be using a web-based program called XtraMath to increase speed and accuracy in arithmetic. Your child is invited to spend a few minutes each day practicing math on the computer. If you don't have Internet at home I can suggest alternative activities which are also effective.

XtraMath is a Seattle-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to math achievement for all. There goal is to develop effective, efficient, adaptive and intrinsically rewarding supplemental math activities and make them available for free.

Parents, please take advantage of this free math tool.  Although the program only works on their math facts, it is a fabulous way to work on automaticity with their facts which will in turn help them in the future!

Have your children take 5-8 minutes a night to quickly practice those facts so they can gain more FACT POWER!  I sent the flyer with the directions of how to set up and their password.  If you misplaced yours or did not receive one, please email me and I will be sure to send it out!  I hope you can use the wonderful, free learning tool.
